Processing on the iPhone

Via reas. It’s pretty clear that the iPhone is a wide open field for new interesting work. This guy ported John Resig’s processing.js to the iPhone, running with SpiderMonkey and OpenGL. It’s hot.

And the next iPhone rolling out in a couple weeks will be faster, with an app marketplace, the sdk, and supposedly GPS. It seems like we’re about to see a ton of innovation here. Nice to see these graphics layers taking shape.

On the other hand…

OK, so there are still some nice things about the web. Namely http://www.qwantz.com/archive/001230.html (via Anita)

IMMOGBNR indeed. Today seems to be about balancing curmudgeonism with optimism. It’s tricky.

The web is sucky lately

Twitter is unreliable and slow.

Gmail sucks on Safari, and it is getting slower and slower everywhere.

There are ads freakin everywhere.

I have too many passwords and accounts.

I don’t like so much of my data flowing through and living in Google.

People scrape my blog and make money by republishing its content with ads.

Facebook is boring.

People crack my blog software and insert hidden SEO links in the header.
